TECATE CINCO de MAYO MAXES OUT AT 76 TEAMS

The clouds parted and the rain stayed away at Victory Lane this weekend where all games were played as scheduled. As the balloons rose over the desert, the Tecate Cinco de Mayo was played on a picture perfect weekend.

A big thank you to all the teams and fans that turned out for the Cinco de Mayo. Thanks always to Mike "Schultzz" Esparza from Crescent Crown Distributing for the full sub jerseys for each team. Thanks to Adrian and Premier Athletics for traveling from Texas to set up their merchandise.

Finally congratulations to the Champions. Thanks for playing with Tournament Sports. We hope to see you all at the Hispanic Championships on October 14 - 16.

ASA BEST IN THE WEST & COTTONWOOD FENCE BUSTER

ASA was sold out again on a busy, rainy weekend in Cottonwood, Victory Lane, Desert West and Cesar Chavez Parks.

In Cottonwood the teams Escodido, Native Grill & Wings and Banditos took Championship honors winning ASA sublimated dry fits in each of the three divisions.

In town, at Desert West, Arizona Toros defeated Most Hated and Not Compas was victorious over DC/Local Boyz.

In the nine team womens which was divided into two separate divisions, Krazy Pitches won the upper and Panti Droppers won the lower. Thanks to all the ladies for showing up.

Congratulations to all the champions. Thanks to all the teams and fans for being good sports about the changing fields and weather conditions.

Get in early for Leg II of the Triple Grand Slam on April 23 & 24 and also the TECATE CINCO DE MAYO on April 30 & May 1. They both will be sold out prior to the deadline. Remember the TECATE CINCO DE MAYO features a Free Tecate full sub jersey to every team which is donated by our title sponsor - Crescent Crown.

Finally the COMPLETE 2016 ASA SCHEDULE will finally be up later this week. Just got the firm dates for the Mountain Madness in Flagstaff and the Cool Countries in Prescott.

ASA & Coors Light Easter Food Drive SB Classic

Last Saturday's ASA Easter Food Drive at Papago park was a huge success with ASA teams donating over 450 cans of food to the Crescent Crown charities. The cans were delivered this Monday to Mike "Schultzz" Esparza, the title sponsor of Arizona ASA. Mike wanted to make sure to thank all the teams for their generosity on the day before Easter.

Leon Rodriguez's PHAT SC team donated over 100 cans of food by themselves and also a bucket full of snacks which was won by Nemesis.

The tournament was won by Escogido with King and Duck coming in a close second. Both teams won ASA sublimated dryfits.

Thanks to all the teams that played and donated to help others less fortunate. Look for more food, toy and shoe drives during the 2016 season. Thank you for playing ASA.

ASA MARCH COTTONWOOD FENCE BUSTER

It was a crowded field for the first Cottonwood Fence Buster of 2016 with 24 teams playing and 6 teams on a wait list that did not get in. March 19th proved a perfect day for softball at Riverfront Park where the friendly confines measure 285 feet.

There were four Champions - ClasSick, Full Swing, Represent SickNess and Falcon Punch. They all received ASA Dryfits with sublimated sides.

Congratulations to the Champions. Thank you to all the teams and fans that came out to support ASA in Cottonwood.

The next Cottonwood Fence Buster is April 9th. We have 8 teams already signed up so get in early so you don't get left out.

X-TREME CLASSIC

This weekend's inaugural ASA X-TREME CLASSIC had 63 teams in seven divisions at Sahuaro Ranch and Victory Lane Parks. There were 3 Men's Champions - BNB, AMIGOS and II THE LIMIT. There were 3 Coed Champions - ClasSicc, Roster Check and Mayhem. The Women's Division was won by Krazy Pitches. Congratulations to all the Champions and thanks for playing ASA.

MODELO'S WINTERCUP CHAMPIONSHIPS

This weekend's MODELO WINTERCUP was played while the Arizona Cardinals beat Green Bay to advance to play Carolina on their march to the Super Bowl.

Every team playing in the MODELO CHAMPIONSHIPS received a FREE MODELO hooded sub and a 4 game guarantee.

Escogido and Joker's Wild won the Men's Divisions. Duck Commander and Wrecking Ball were victorious in the Coed Divisions. At Sahuaro Rancho, Black Widows won the championships in Women's Division.

Congratulations to all the Champions. Thanks to all the teams for playing with ASA during this Arizona Football weekend. We hope every team thought the competition was fair, they got a good value for their entry fee and that they had a chance to win their bracket.

Look for ASA/Tournament Sports to offer more 4 game guarantees and mark your calendar for the ASA D Nationals on August 26 - 28 at BLD Perris in So Cal. The top four finishing teams move on to the Worth Championships in Oklahoma City. Packets and qualifying details will follow soon.

This weekend when you watch our Arizona Cardinals take on the Carolina Panthers, take a moment to reflect on what a great season it has been. What a privilege to have a team with Palmer, Larry, Peterson, the Badger, David Johnson, Campbell, the Browns, Chris Johnson, Michael Floyd and the rest of the team. How lucky were we to have found Bruce Arians to be our coach. Buckle up and cheer them on. We are one game away from the Super Bowl.

MODELO'S KICKOFF CLASSIC

It was a great weekend of weather and softball for the first ASA tournament of 2016 - MODELO'S KICKOFF CLASSIC. Every team received a 4 game guarantee and a free Modelo sweatshirt - courtesy of Crescent Crown.

In 2016 look for big things from Arizona ASA including manager giveaways, 4 game guarantees and new ASA directors with added programs. Also in 2016 mark your calendar for the ASA D NATIONALS which will be held in SoCal at BLD Perris on August 26th-28th with the top 4 (four) finishing teams qualifying for the Worth Championship Series in Oklahoma City over Labor Day.

MODELO'S TOYS 4 KIDS HOLIDAY BOWL

It was a bicycle extravaganza at Modelo's Toys 4 Kids Holiday Bowl on December 12 & 13 at Victory Lane Sports Park.

At the Modelo Holiday Bowl, teams donated a $25 toy and Tournament Sports paid their 2016 ASA fee. Many of the teams went out of their way to donate exceptional toys that far exceeded the $25 value in the spirit of the season. By the end of the weekend, teams had donated 8 bicycles and over 60 other toys.

All donated toys were delivered to "Santa" Mike Esparza of Crescent Crown for distribution to his many charities. Crescent Crown is and has been the title sponsor of ASA/Tournament Sports for the past 5 years.

There were six Champions crowned at last weeks ASA MODELO HISPANIC STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS.

ALL teams participating qualified for the MODELO HISPANIC CHAMPIONSHIPS which will be held on October 16 - 18 at Victory Lane, Rose Mofford and Desert West complexes. The MODELO HISPANIC CHAMPIONSHIPS are starts on Friday and always draws over 100 teams from the region.

A soggy Friday cleared out for a beautiful weekend of softball at Victory Lane.

PRESCOTT - EVERYBODY'S HOME TOWN

Eighteen teams played in 2 divisions this last weekend in the PIONEER CLASSIC. It had snowed the night before.

ADM won the upper division with HDH from Cottonwood finishing in second. In the lower division Grape Apes won undefeated while Nemesis finished second.

Thanks for playing ASA. See you later in the summer in Flagstaff or Prescott.

It took three different complexes but the two Men's Champions were crowned before the Mayweather/Pacquio fight on Saturday night.

SSauce from Albuquerque and DC/Local Boyz took first in the Men's Divisions. Panti Droppers was victorious in the Women's Division.

In the Coed on Sunday, Roster Check took the Upper Division while Ballz & Dollz took first in the Lower.
